Mike Cordier, 32, was not a fan of Great White -- he was only at The Station on Feb. 20 because he was a Budweiser promoter, and a co-worker who would have normally completed the shift needed the night off.

"That was the kind of guy he was, a really loyal friend," said John Herlihy, who met Cordier in junior high playing in a neighborhood football game.

What Cordier did love: the Three Stooges. He could do dead-on impressions of Larry, Curly, and Moe -- complete with the fake punches and "nyuk, nyuk, nyuk," noises, Herlihy said. "He was always making everyone laugh."

Cordier, a promoter for McLaughlin & Moran, a local Budweiser distributor, was born in Hartford and moved to Westerly, R.I., with his family during junior high. Last year, he moved closer to work, to North Kingstown. He lived with his girlfriend of several years, Nicole Dorcas.

He loved to fish, and could be found at the ocean or on Quonochontaug Pond.

"He got me into fishing when we were in junior high," Herlihy said. "I'd never done it before, but he made it sound so fun. . . . We'd been fishing together ever since."
